Mark Yim

With almost 40 years as a professional musician in Hawaii, Mark has had the opportunity to learn and work with some of the finest artists and award winning groups, as well as work with the largest production show company in Hawaii.

He currently performs as a band leader for his own music, and entertains with the Makaha Sons with Jerome Koko. He was previous a member of the Peter Moon Band, and Tihati Productions.

Over the years, he has studied and performed with Olomana, Hapa, Karen Keawehawaii, Bill Kaiwa, Kawai Cockett, Martin Pahinui, Nina Kealiiwahamana, Kekua Fernandes, Darrell Lupenui, and the Hawaiian Isle Serenaders among others.

He studied for years under the guidance of Peter Moon, legendary musician of the Sunday Manoa and the Peter Moon Band, and Sam Bernard, a noted Falsetto singer and ukulele and hula master.

He continues to teach young musicians guitar and vocals, encouraging them to perpetuate and improve the music of Hawaii, while striving for excellence in the music they perform and record.
